Michael Phipps Earns ACC Player Of The Week Honors

| COLLEGE PARK, MD - Maryland's Michael Phipps earned this week's Atlantic
Coast Conference Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week honors. Phipps helped the ninth-ranked Terrapins post a 2-0
record on the week, including a 14-8 victory over league opponent No. 11 North Carolina on Saturday. |
| Phipps scored on five of six shots in Maryland's two games last week, while
all six shots were on goal. In addition, the senior attackman tallied four assists, all of which he collected in
the Terps' 18-3 win over Mount St. Mary's on Tuesday afternoon at Ludwig Field. |
| Against Mount St. Mary's, Phipps got the ball rolling for the Terps with
his first of three goals at the 11:52 mark. Maryland again came out quickly in the third quarter with Phipps finishing
off a seven-point game with a pair of goals and an assist in the first five minutes of the period. In all, the
veteran posted his third career hat trick and a career-tying four assists. |
| Phipps had another solid performance against No. 11 North Carolina on Saturday,
assisting his Terrapins to the 14-8 win Saturday afternoon at Chevy Chase Bank Field at Byrd Stadium. The attackman
built the lead to 2-0 at nearly the 10-minute mark en route to tallying two goals for the winning effort. Phipps
extended his point scoring streak to 10 games with his nine-point week. . |

McDaniel’s King named CC Softball Player of the
Week - 3/25/07

| LANCASTER, PA – Brittany King (Baltimore, MD/Mt. Carmel), a junior on the
McDaniel softball team, has been named the Centennial Conference Softball Player of the Week for the week ending
March 25. King led the Green Terror (7-9) to a sweep of Catholic on Sunday in its only action of the week. |
| In the doubleheader, she hit .800, going 4-for-6 with three runs scored and
four RBIs. She added one double and drew two walks for a 1.000 slugging percentage and .857 on-base percentage. |

Hawk baseball earns MEAC Player and Rookie of the
Week honors

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA-University of Maryland Eastern Shore outfielder/catcher
Joel Gonzalez and outfielder Josh Dean claimed their first Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Player and Rookie of
the Week honors respectively for the week ending March 25. |
| Gonzalez (OF/C, 6-0, 185) Beltsville, MD) posted a .619 average in six games
last week, including three conference wins over Coppin State University. He recorded 13 hits, including a double
and a triple and 10 RBI in 21 at bats. He also drew four walks, stole two bases and tallied 16 putouts with one
assist. The triple was the first of his career and he is batting an amazing 494 for the season. |
| Dean (OF, 6-1, 185, Dagsboro, DE) recorded his first career home run in a
game one win against Coppin State. He averaged .471 from the field including eight hits, five walks and five RBI
during 17 at bats. He swiped three bases and posted 11 putouts with one assist. Dean also flashed the leather,
making a diving catch in game two of the Coppin State series that prevented the Eagles from tying the game. |
| Junior reliever Daniel Sterling also received mention as a top performer
for his two outings last week. In two appearances Sterling three six and two thirds innings and allowed no runs
and just one hit and one walk while striking out eight of the 21 batters he faced. Sterling recorded his first
career win in game three against Coppin State. |

Skeen Each Obtain ODAC Honors

| SALEM, VA – Washington & Lee sophomore attackman Tim Skeen (Baltimore,
Md./Towson) was selected as the Old Dominion Athletic Conference men's lacrosse player of the week. |
| Skeen helped lead the Generals to a 14-13 victory over Roanoke on Saturday
by totaling a career-high eight points on a career-high five goals and three assists. Skeen scored three first
quarter goals as the Generals raced out to a 6-1 lead only to see the Maroons come back to take a fourth-quarter
lead. After the game was tied at 13-13 late in the fourth period, Skeen, ehe 2006 ODAC Rookie of the Year, tallied
the game-winner with a one-on-one move with 7.4 seconds remaining. |
